Job Description

The Chief Operating Officer will partner with the CEO and the leadership team to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with Kijani Forestry’s mission. This role involves overseeing field operations, resource management, project execution, financial performance, and compliance with sustainability practices. The COO will also lead cross-functional collaboration and innovation to enhance operational efficiency and project success.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and strategic risks.

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect company assets.

  • Coordinate with other departments (research, community engagement, advocacy) to implement projects.

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.

  • Encourage continuous improvement through innovation and emerging technologies.

  • Support experimentation and process optimization to enhance performance.

  • Report operational performance and key metrics to the CEO and board of directors.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.
