Restless Development is a global non-profit agency. We support the collective power of young leaders to create a better world. We are independently registered and governed in nine countries (India, Nepal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, UK, USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe) bound together by our vision for youth power. We run youth-led programmes to tackle the issues that young people care about the most – We also run the Youth Collective – a growing network of over 4000 local youth civil society groups and organisations in 185 countries. We are committed to creating an agency that walks the talk on power shifting, using the power shifting checklist, both internally and externally.
Programme support, this includes supporting various programmes tasks to ensure that activities are implemented smoothly, and project objectives are met.
Attending foundation training for both qualitative and quantitative research.
Mobilise respondents for the research, ensuring the active participation of the target demographic in the research.
Carry out data collection as per the agreed-upon targets/deliverables.
Carry out transcription and conversion of data into a readable format for analysis.
Participate in data validation to ensure the accuracy and validity of collected data through rigorous scrutiny and verification exercises.
Ensure the safety of fellow researchers and community members.
Research Questions and Training
Attend a 5-day training to equip you with the skills to complete this work.
Participate actively during the training sessions and related activities.
Provide feedback on the research tools/instruments to ensure they align with Youth Researchers Academy objectives.
Data Collection
Collect data independently, ethically, and accurately from selected community stakeholders.
Together with your data collection team, manage and update your data collection work plan.
Ensure high quality of data collected by cleaning it.
Data Analysis, Interpretation and Reporting
Attend a 3-day analysis workshop to identify key themes arising from the data.
Provide your own interpretation of the data collected based on what’s presented in the workshop.
Be available for follow-up and assist in collating the findings from the analysis workshop.
Contribute to the development of research reports and presentations.
Other (10%)
Other duties as required, sometimes requiring working on weekends and holidays for which time off in lieu can be taken.

Are between 18-30 years old.
Are passionate and driven about youth development and the role of young people as partners and leaders in decision-making.
Completed at least O-level education, current student or equivalent work experience in youth engagement.
Current resident of Jinja and Mayuge districts as a MUST.
Fluent in English and the local language of your district.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and analysis, including key informant interviews and focus group discussions.
Have enough time and capacity to commit to research projects from start to finish.
Passionate about research and sexual reproductive health.
Have some prior experience and interest in social science research around sexual reproductive health (no worries if you do not).
Have some expertise or experience in knowledge/understanding of sexual reproductive health or have been involved in the advocacy work around sexual reproductive health.
