Well Superintendent job at TotalEnergies Uganda
TotalEnergies Uganda
Job Description
Position: Well Superintendent
Company: TotalEnergies Uganda
Location: Uganda
Overview:
The Tilenga Project represents an unparalleled industrial drilling operation within the TotalEnergies Group. Located in a highly sensitive and remote area of Uganda, the project encompasses oilfields that partially lie within a protected national park, wetlands under the River Nile, and densely populated rural communities. The scale and environmental sensitivity of the region introduce significant risks, including the potential for major incidents and strong oversight from NGOs and other stakeholders.
This high-profile development will involve simultaneous operation of three drilling rigs, delivering one well approximately every four days. Such intensity demands full standardization of equipment and procedures, rigorous adherence to Drilling & Wells (D&W) instructions, and efficient on-site logistics management.
The project is strongly focused on cost-efficiency, requiring a challenge to conventional TotalEnergies design standards and referential practices. In addition, Electric Submersible Pumps (ESP) will be critical to the success of the wells, requiring long-life operation to avoid costly workovers.
Operating in a multicultural environment, the project will involve contractors from multiple regions and must comply with both Ugandan regulatory frameworks and international codes for onshore oil and gas operations.
Drilling operations are expected to commence around Q3 2022, with Ready for Start-Up (RFSU) targeted 45–50 months post-Final Investment Decision (FID).
