Job Description
The Web Engineer II will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain scalable, accessible, and performant web applications that are central to HashiCorp’s user experience. This includes working on projects ranging from marketing initiatives with rich interactions to backend systems and developer documentation tools. The role values open communication, strong collaboration, and pragmatic problem-solving. You will contribute to internal systems, mentor peers, help shape technical direction, and participate in the full lifecycle of feature development—planning, prototyping, building, testing, and iterating.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain public-facing web properties including hashicorp.com and developer.hashicorp.com
Collaborate with designers, marketers, and engineers to deliver polished, interactive experiences
Contribute well-tested, accessible, and maintainable code
Work with frontend technologies including React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
Participate in backend development and database interaction as needed
Improve documentation authoring experiences in collaboration with education and product engineers
Mentor peers and conduct thoughtful code reviews
Communicate clearly in writing and discussions to foster effective collaboration
Ensure web experiences meet high standards for performance, responsiveness, and scalability

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of experience in frontend and/or full-stack development
Expertise in React, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern web standards
Experience with design systems, component libraries, and accessibility best practices
Fluency with version control systems (Git), unit/integration testing, and HTTP APIs
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with database design (both relational and NoSQL)
Experience using tools such as Figma for design collaboration
Desirable Attributes:
Ability to work autonomously in a remote-first, asynchronous team
Willingness to contribute ideas early and iterate on imperfect prototypes
A proactive learner with openness to receiving and providing constructive feedback
Experience working across engineering, design, and product/marketing teams
