As the VP Business Development – East Africa, you will take a hands-on leadership role focused on developing and executing short- and long-term commercial strategies. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, expanding the client base, and maximizing revenue from existing accounts. How to Apply
Develop and execute the overall business development and sales strategy for East Africa
Lead the full sales cycle including lead generation, client acquisition, and deal closure
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners at C-suite level
Collaborate with internal teams to customize solutions for market-specific requirements
Monitor and report sales activity, market trends, and business performance to the Sales Operations team
Drive cross-sell and up-sell initiatives to maximize revenue from existing accounts
Ensure clear communication with internal teams to resolve client issues and streamline service delivery
Represent Thunes at regional events and industry forums to promote brand visibility and expand networks
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field
Proven experience in business development or sales leadership, preferably in fintech or payments industry
Strong understanding of East African market dynamics and regulatory environment
Demonstrated ability to close high-value deals and manage complex sales cycles
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and data-driven decision-making abilities
Strong organizational and leadership capabilities
