Job Description

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking a Project Officer (Communications) to support its operations in Kampala. The role involves managing internal databases, creating communication content, and coordinating media outreach activities. The successful candidate will contribute to visibility events and ensure compliance with branding standards.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Under the supervision of the Programme Management Officer, The UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
  • Maintain and update internal databases, websites and social media platforms
  • Draft, edit and design communication content aligned with UN standards
  • Research and compile information for communication outputs
  • Coordinate media coverage and public information activities
  • Support multimedia production (photo, video, audio, online content)
  • Contribute to planning and organization of visibility events and outreach activities
  • Liaise with media, partners and stakeholders
  • Support administrative and logistical processes including procurement and budget tracking
  • Contribute to communication strategies, newsletters and publications
  • Support data collection, analysis, reporting and knowledge management
  • Ensure branding and visibility compliance
  • Perform other related duties as required
