Job Description
As a Virtual Tutor, you will deliver structured, research-based tutoring sessions in reading and literacy to groups of K–6 students. Using Amplify’s curriculum and online platform, you’ll conduct sessions via Zoom, prepare lesson plans, and receive ongoing coaching and training. Sessions occur during weekday school hours, with flexibility in scheduling. Tutors are compensated for both session delivery and preparation, and additional opportunities may be available for math tutoring or assessment administration after successful performance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver engaging small-group reading/literacy lessons using Amplify’s curriculum
Prepare lesson plans and review materials ahead of each session
Commit to a consistent tutoring schedule during school hours (8 a.m. – 4 p.m. ET)
Participate in ongoing training and feedback sessions
Maintain consistent communication with students and the Amplify team
Log in 15 minutes early for each session to ensure readiness
Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards in all student interactions
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Fluent in English
Comfortable using digital tools and platforms
Available at least 90 minutes per day, 3 weekdays per week (including Wednesdays)
Personal laptop/desktop (no tablets/phones) with webcam, mic, and stable internet
Quiet, distraction-free home workspace
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with K–6 students
Background in tutoring, education, or child development
Willingness to receive and apply feedback
Commitment to professional growth
