Position Overview
Hariss International is seeking a skilled and experienced Utilities & Facilities Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of all utility systems and facility infrastructure. This role ensures that utilities—such as water, electricity, HVAC, compressed air, and related systems—are efficiently managed, maintained to the highest standards, and compliant with safety and environmental regulations.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, sound organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing resources, minimizing downtime, and improving energy efficiency across all utility systems.

How to Apply
Utilities Management:Oversee the daily operations of all utility systems, ensuring they function reliably and efficiently.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:Schedule and execute planned maintenance, emergency repairs, annual overhauls, and equipment installations to avoid unplanned downtime.
System Monitoring & Troubleshooting:Monitor utility performance, identify inefficiencies, and resolve system malfunctions promptly to maintain consistent service delivery.
Safety & Compliance:Ensure full adherence to occupational health, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Conduct routine safety inspections and audits.
Energy Efficiency & Cost Management:Develop and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency, reduce utility costs, and track consumption trends.
Budget Oversight:Prepare and manage the utilities and facilities budget, ensuring effective cost control without compromising quality or performance.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination:Work closely with external vendors, service providers, and contractors to ensure seamless utility support and adherence to service level agreements.
Reporting:Generate detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports on utility usage, equipment status, maintenance activities, and cost performance metrics.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Facilities Management.
Experience
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in managing, operating, and maintaining utility production and distribution systems.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with auxiliary systems, direct digital controls (DDC), pneumatic controls, and facility infrastructure.
Supervisory experience is essential.
Key Competencies & Skills
Strong technical knowledge of utility systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, water systems).
Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
Proficient in problem-solving and capable of responding effectively to operational challenges.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Demonstrates a customer-focused approach and service-oriented mindset.
Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing operational needs or unfamiliar situations.
