Job Description
The interns will be engaged in various aspects of urban planning and development including data collection, analysis, mapping, and project support. They will assist county officials in preparing land use plans, monitoring development projects, and ensuring compliance with planning policies. This internship is designed to provide graduates with practical exposure to urban planning processes, project management, and development control in a government setting.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and updating urban and regional land use plans.
Support data collection, mapping, and analysis for planning projects.
Participate in monitoring and reporting on county development projects.
Assist in drafting planning reports and development documentation.
Support compliance checks for planning standards and county policies.
Engage with stakeholders and communities during planning activities.
Provide administrative and technical support to the Department of Urban Planning.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Project Planning & Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in computer applications; GIS knowledge will be an added advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
High integrity, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
