Job Description
IIDC therefore, seeks for applications and submission of CVs from potential experienced and competent individuals to join its team on an on-call basis to provide the service of transport facilitation/driver.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide the service of effective vehicle maintenance and provide the service of safe driving to transport IID staff and stakeholders to various destinations within Uganda.
Accountable to: Executive Director
Supervised by: Administrator
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining the vehicle in road worthy condition and fuel it whenever necessary and report major mechanical faults and issues that require management action in line with vehicle maintenance and accident policies
Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues
Transport staff and authorized person(s) to a required destination and deliver mails or goods to the specified destinations according to organization requirements.
Maintain and update trip movement records (e.g. log books, fuel cards, etc.) and account for funds spent on driving operations in line with the standard accounting procedures and reporting requirements
Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and the image of IIDC to the public in line with the organizational requirements and the Uganda road safety guidelines
Monitor and report on organizational vehicle license and other related permits in line with vehicle policy and traffic laws
Observe Uganda road safety and traffic regulations and advise passengers on the safety measures while on road
Undertake any other related duties as may be necessary within the overall function of the job.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Holder of a minimum of UCE certificate
A valid driving permit of min of 7 seater passenger vehicle class
Training in Defensive driving and/or Fleet management
Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics is an added advantage
Minimum of five years constant driving experience of a 7-seater passenger vehicle class or higher especially with a reputable company.
Experience in working with a reputable NGO will be a highly added advantage.
A team player with excellent communication skills and organizational skills
Ability to multitask
Smart, Clean and Presentable, portraying a positive image of the Organization at all times.
Reliable and good time manager
