Job Description
The Transaction Specialist will lead the structuring of financial solutions for e-moto manufacturers and operators by unlocking capital from both private and public sector financiers. They will ensure the application of structured and blended finance mechanisms, credit enhancements, and risk mitigation techniques that align with BRD’s guidelines and funder requirements. The role involves collaborating with diverse stakeholders, engaging in policy dialogue, managing the end-to-end transaction process, conducting market research, and preparing performance reports. Capacity building and knowledge sharing within the Bank and among partners are also key components.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostics to assess financing needs in the e-mobility sector
Identify potential financiers and providers of risk mitigation
Design and structure tailored financial products using proven techniques (e.g., ringfencing, off-take agreements)
Manage the full transaction process from origination to closure
Prepare documentation and financial analysis for credit approvals
Serve as a transaction advisor to stakeholders (e.g., MFIs, e-moto manufacturers)
Collaborate with Credit Specialist to ensure bankability of transactions
Support financiers in structuring suitable financial solutions
Liaise with government bodies and cooperatives to ensure sector support
Participate in Steering Committee and E-Moto Partnership Group meetings
Monitor e-mobility market trends and analyze impact of financial products
Prepare detailed reports and maintain full transaction documentation
Conduct trainings on structured finance and transaction management
Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in the financial services sector in Rwanda
Deep knowledge of the Rwandan banking and MSME finance sectors and regulations
Demonstrated success in closing financial transactions and managing portfolios
Familiarity with structured and blended finance, guarantees, and export financing
Experience in developing credit manuals and delivering training is an asset
Skills:
Strong financial analysis and forecasting abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven stakeholder engagement and people management skills
Ability to assess transaction viability and manage risk
Capacity to deliver high-quality reports and presentations
