Job Description
The successful candidate will take charge of achieving sales objectives, penetrating new markets, managing distributors, and overseeing retail operations. Key responsibilities include setting and executing sales strategies, analyzing market trends, training sales reps, and ensuring optimal stock movement. The role will also involve generating reports, conducting audits, and identifying sales improvement opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with key clients in the territory.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Drive sales across all bakery SKUs (bread, cakes, biscuits, etc.)
Identify new market opportunities and expand the customer base
Develop and implement territory-specific sales strategies
Monitor competitor activity and market trends
Appoint, manage, and support distributors and stockists
Conduct regular visits and audits to ensure product availability and brand visibility
Supervise stock levels, order placement, and receivables follow-up
Lead, train, and mentor a team of Sales Representatives
Submit regular reports, forecasts, and market feedback
Provide strategic recommendations based on territory performance analysis
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
4–6 years of sales experience in FMCG (preferably in bread or food products)
Strong distributor and retail relationship management experience
Proven track record in meeting and exceeding territory sales targets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Familiarity with MS Office and CRM tools
Ability to travel extensively within the territory
Valid driver’s license
Understanding of local languages and markets in Nyanza/Western Kenya is an added advantage
