Job Description
The Technical Sales Manager will oversee the technical sales function, developing and implementing sales strategies that align with company goals. The role involves managing, mentoring, and training the sales team to ensure their success while directly engaging with key customers to understand technical requirements and deliver customized solutions. The Manager will provide technical guidance during the sales cycle, analyze market trends, identify opportunities for growth, and contribute to product design ideas. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with marketing, product development, and customer support teams, as well as establishing strategic industry partnerships. Regular reporting, forecasting, and preparation of presentations for senior management will also form a key part of the role.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company goals and expand market share.
Lead, mentor, and train the technical sales team to enhance performance.
Engage with customers to understand technical requirements and provide tailored solutions.
Provide technical support and guidance during the sales process.
Deliver product demonstrations and address customer concerns.
Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
Collaborate with marketing, product development, and support teams to align strategies.
Contribute to product design to maintain a competitive edge.
Identify and build partnerships that add value to the organization.
Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience: Proven track record in technical sales or a related field; experience managing a sales team is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
Ability to analyze and resolve complex customer needs.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
