Job Description
The Technical Advisor will serve as a global subject matter expert for Child Protection and ECD programming at World Relief. This position plays a pivotal role in technical support, program design, capacity building, and strategy development. Responsibilities include leading the growth of the Protection portfolio through strategic business development, supporting country offices with implementation and quality assurance, strengthening Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) frameworks, and engaging externally to raise World Relief’s technical visibility and brand.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven experience in humanitarian or development settings, strong familiarity with global child protection standards, and a commitment to working through a faith-based, collaborative lens.

How to Apply
A. Business Development (40%)
Expand Child Protection and ECD funding portfolio
Lead proposal development, design workshops, and theory of change creation
Support capture trips and produce capacity statements
Ensure alignment with donor compliance and standards
B. Technical Support and Program Quality (30%)
Act as technical lead for global Child Protection and ECD programming
Support country offices with assessments, planning, monitoring, and evaluations
Champion integration of protection within other sector programs
Conduct project site visits for training, technical oversight, and collaboration
C. Strategy, Learning, and Impact (15%)
Strengthen MEAL frameworks and evidence base with MEAL team
Lead learning forums such as Child Development & Protection Community of Practice
Develop case studies, briefs, and learning documents for internal and external audiences
D. External Engagement (15%)
Represent World Relief in technical forums, conferences, and donor meetings
Promote the organization’s technical thought-leadership through publications and advocacy
Required:
Mature Christian faith and commitment to World Relief’s mission and values
Bachelor's degree in International Development, Social Work, or related field
Minimum 7 years of international experience in child protection programming
Familiarity with global protection standards and donor regulations (USAID, PRM, UNICEF)
Experience in program design, capacity building, and proposal development
Strong skills in MEAL, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement
Excellent communication and English writing skills
Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%, including to high-risk areas
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Human Development, Social Work, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in fragile/conflict-affected settings
Experience working with mobile populations and displaced communities
