Project Overview
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) is a major cross-border infrastructure project designed to transport crude oil from Uganda’s oil fields to the Tanzanian coast. Schneider Electric leads the integration of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecommunications Systems (EITS), essential for the pipeline’s safe and efficient operation. Given the project’s scale and complexity, effective site coordination is critical to meeting key milestones.
Schneider Electric’s Role
As the primary EITS integrator, Schneider Electric is responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and integration of electrical and telecom systems throughout the EACOP project. The Team Leader – Site Coordination plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily field operations, resource scheduling, and collaboration among internal teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, all while adhering to Schneider Electric’s technical, safety, and operational standards.
Position Summary
The Team Leader – Site Coordination manages the daily scheduling and coordination of all on-site activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines, resource plans, and operational objectives. The role requires close interaction with subcontractors, design teams, document controllers, procurement, and logistics to ensure compliance with local regulations and Schneider Electric’s safety protocols. This position demands a proactive leader with excellent organizational and communication skills experienced in large infrastructure projects.

How to Apply
Develop and maintain daily and weekly site activity schedules in coordination with the Site Activity Manager.
Allocate and manage site resources including manpower, tools, and equipment to meet project demands.
Track and manage technical documentation (e.g., test procedures, ITPs, punch lists, warranty letters) ensuring field teams have required materials.
Monitor on-site progress, update schedules, and identify potential delays or conflicts early.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Conduct daily site briefings to communicate priorities, deliverables, and safety protocols.
Document on-site activities, workforce utilization, and deviations for reporting and tracking purposes.
Define and update site team structures and resource mobilization plans in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Ensure all Schneider Electric and subcontracted personnel comply with local regulations and certification requirements (work permits, ERB, EWURA, PAU, A1 certificates, etc.).
Liaise with design and documentation teams to ensure technical documents are ready for field deployment.
Attend meetings on site operations, HSE, co-activity planning, and commissioning with internal teams and clients.
Support the Project Manager by providing updates to the event tracker and risk registers related to on-site activities.
Identify operational risks, propose improvements, and implement contingency plans as needed.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
Scheduling or coordination certifications (e.g., Primavera P6, PMP) are advantageous.
Experience:
8 to 10 years managing on-site activities for large infrastructure projects, preferably in oil & gas or energy sectors.
Proven skills in site scheduling, team management, and interface coordination.
Proficiency with project management and scheduling software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of coordination for electrical and telecommunications site works.
Experience with document control, resource scheduling, and punch list management.
Familiarity with logistics and material tracking in remote site environments.
Competence in project tracking tools, interface registers, and event logging.
Understanding installation workflows, commissioning preparations, and dependency management.
Personal Attributes
Exceptionally organized and adaptable to changing site conditions.
Excellent communicator able to engage cross-functional and multicultural teams.
Proactive problem solver with keen attention to detail and follow-through.
Resilient under pressure, able to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
International experience, especially in remote or developing regions.
Familiarity with Schneider Electric systems and documentation standards.
Knowledge of HSE regulations specific to oil & gas industrial environments.
Fluency in English required; French or Swahili language skills are a strong plus.

Adherence to site schedules against baseline plans.
Timely mobilization of personnel and equipment.
Completion rates of punch lists and milestone deliverables.
Quality and timeliness of documentation handovers.
Compliance of resources with local regulatory requirements.
Work Conditions
Full-time, field-based role in remote site settings requiring strict adherence to PPE and HSE policies.
Extended work hours during peak installation and commissioning phases.
Coordination across multiple stakeholders in different countries and time zones.
Exposure to high-pressure operational phases and critical project delivery timelines.
