Job Description

We are looking for passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Primary section, in January 2025.
The Teaching Assistant (Primary) in Uganda will support the classroom teacher in delivering quality education to young learners. The role involves providing academic, social, and administrative support to ensure effective teaching and learning in a primary school setting. The Teaching Assistant helps create a conducive learning environment, supervises students, and fosters their holistic development.

Apply with a detailed CV (with passport photo at the top) and application letter (clearly stating whether you are applying for the Teaching Assistant position in Key Stage 1 (Lower Primary) or Key Stage 2 (Upper Primary).
Please include the names and contact details of three professional referees one of whom must be your current or most recent Headteacher/Principal/Head of School. Your application letter should mention your working experience in Lower and/or Upper Primary and how you meet the criteria mentioned above.
Attach a copy of your Bachelor of Education in Primary Education degree certificate
Do not attach other certificates or reference letters at this stage. All applications should come via email.

  • Assist the teacher in planning and delivering lessons aligned with the curriculum.

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupils needing extra help.

  • Help prepare and organize teaching materials and resources.

  • Supervise pupils during class activities, breaks, and extracurricular programs.

  • Encourage positive behavior and support students' emotional and social development.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.

  • Monitor and record students’ progress and report to the class teacher.

  • Support the integration of inclusive practices for children with diverse needs.

  • Communicate with parents or guardians as directed by the teacher or school administration.

This is a local hire position and only candidates with Uganda National ID cards shall be considered. The Successful candidates must:

  • Be a fully qualified Primary Teacher with a Bachelor of Education in Primary Education degree

  • Have relevant experience in teaching Primary students

  • Have a good working knowledge of Google Apps and online teaching

  • Experience with the English National Curriculum/IPC is an added advantage

  • Experience in using Google Workspace (e.g. Gmail, Google Classroom, Google Meet, etc.) is an added advantage
