Shree Sahajanand School, Uganda (SSSU) is a modern co-educational day learning institution offering pre-primary, primary, and secondary schooling to children on the National Curriculum.
Situated in the heart of Kampala City at Bukoto, Nakawa Division, SSSU is strategically built in a quiet and secure residential area on a 30-acre Shree Swaminarayan Complex.
We operate under the auspices of Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj (SKLPS) Uganda, and Shree Kutch Satsang Swaminarayan Temple (SKSST, Kampala. The school is incorporated as Shree Sahajanand School in the year 2022.

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments, observations, and evaluations to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, learning styles, and individual needs. Use assessment data to develop appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations.

  • Co-Teaching and Collaboration: Collaborate with general education teachers to provide inclusive education experiences for students with disabilities in the general education classroom. Co-teach lessons, modify curriculum, and provide support to ensure access and participation.

  • Behavior Management: Implement behavior intervention strategies, positive behavior supports, and individualized behavior plans to address challenging behaviors and promote positive social and emotional development.

  • Resource and Materials Development: Develop or adapt instructional materials, resources, and learning aids to support students' diverse learning needs and abilities. Utilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment as needed.

  • Progress Monitoring and Data Collection: Monitor student progress, collect data on academic and behavioral outcomes, and use data to make informed instructional decisions, adjust interventions, and track student growth over time.

  • Parent and Family Communication: Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding students' progress, goals, and needs. Collaborate with families to develop strategies for supporting learning and promoting consistency between home and school.

  • Professional Collaboration and Development: Participate in professional learning communities, interdisciplinary team meetings, and collaborative problem-solving sessions to share expertise, resources, and strategies for supporting students with disabilities.

  • Advocacy and Support: Advocate for students' rights, access to appropriate services, and inclusion in educational opportunities. Provide support and guidance to students with disabilities to develop self-advocacy skills and advocate for their own needs.

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field is typically required. Some positions may require a master's degree, especially for specialized roles or teaching at the secondary level.

  • Teaching Certification: Special Education teachers typically need to be certified in Special Education by completing a teacher education program with a focus on special education and passing relevant exams. Requirements vary by state or country.

  • Specialization: Some positions may require additional certifications or endorsements in specific areas of special education, such as autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, or gifted education.

  • Knowledge of Special Education Law: Familiarity with special education laws and regulations, such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in the United States or equivalent laws in other countries, is important for ensuring compliance and advocating for students' rights.

  • Assessment and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Understanding of assessment procedures, evaluation tools, and the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs and goals.

  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators, support staff, administrators, parents/guardians, and outside service providers to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with disabilities.

  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to adapt teaching strategies, instructional materials, and classroom environments to accommodate students with diverse learning styles, abilities, and needs.

  • Empathy and Patience: Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion in working with students with disabilities, recognizing their strengths, celebrating their achievements, and providing support and encouragement as needed.

  • Continuing Education: Engaging in ongoing professional development activities, such as workshops, seminars, conferences, and specialized training courses, is important for staying updated on best practices, interventions, and strategies in special education.
