Shree Sahajanand School, Uganda (SSSU) is a modern co-educational day learning institution offering pre-primary, primary, and secondary schooling to children on the National Curriculum.
Situated in the heart of Kampala City at Bukoto, Nakawa Division, SSSU is strategically built in a quiet and secure residential area on a 30-acre Shree Swaminarayan Complex.
We operate under the auspices of Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj (SKLPS) Uganda, and Shree Kutch Satsang Swaminarayan Temple (SKSST, Kampala. The school is incorporated as Shree Sahajanand School in the year 2022.

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, or a related field is typically required. Some institutions may prefer candidates with a master's degree, especially for teaching at the high school or college level. For swimming instructors, additional certifications in lifeguarding, water safety, and swim instruction may be required.

  • Teaching Certification: Many jurisdictions require teachers to obtain a teaching certification or license to teach in public schools. This often involves completing a teacher education program with a focus on physical education and passing relevant exams. Swimming instructors may also need certifications from organizations such as the American Red Cross or the YMCA.

  • Subject Matter Knowledge: Demonstrated proficiency in physical fitness, sports, exercise physiology, anatomy, and motor skills development is essential for physical education teachers. For swimming instructors, expertise in swimming techniques, stroke mechanics, water safety, and rescue skills is crucial.

  • Experience: While not always required, having teaching or coaching experience in physical education, sports, or swimming can strengthen a candidate's application. Experience working with children or adolescents is also valuable.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills are necessary for effectively teaching physical education or swimming and interacting with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.

  • CPR and First Aid Certification: Physical education and swimming teachers are often required to maintain current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and first aid certifications to ensure the safety of students.

  • Physical Fitness: Physical education teachers should maintain a high level of physical fitness and lead by example in promoting healthy lifestyles and active living. Swimming instructors should be proficient swimmers and capable of demonstrating various strokes and techniques.

  • Safety Training: Physical education and swimming teachers should be knowledgeable about safety protocols and risk management practices to prevent accidents and injuries during physical activities and aquatic lessons.

  • Continuing Education: Engaging in ongoing professional development activities, such as workshops, seminars, conferences, and specialized training courses, is important for staying updated on best practices in physical education, swimming instruction, and safety procedures.

  • Background Check: Depending on the institution and location, a background check may be required to ensure the safety of students, especially for positions involving swimming instruction and lifeguarding responsibilities.
