Role Overview Summary
The person in the role will work in collaboration with the District Education Office and the TTCs and university to train, mentor and coach secondary school teachers, head teachers and deputy head teachers in teaching methodology and strengthen capacity school governance structures that facilitates improvement of learning achievements.

  • Design and develop training programs and materials for secondary school teacher trainees.

Instruction and Facilitation:

Mentorship and Support:

  • Provide ongoing mentorship and support to teacher trainees during their training period and early career stages.

  • Offer guidance on classroom management, lesson planning, and effective teaching strategies.


Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Assess the progress of teacher trainees through observations, evaluations, and feedback.

  • Provide constructive feedback to help trainees improve their teaching skills.


Professional Development:

  • Stay updated on the latest educational research, trends, and technologies.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

  • Administrative and Organizational Duties


Program Management:

  • Coordinate and manage training programs, ensuring they run smoothly and effectively.

  • Maintain accurate records of trainee progress, attendance, and performance.


Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other educators, institutions, and stakeholders to enhance the training program.

  • Participate in meetings, committees, and task forces related to teacher education.


Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage teaching resources, including materials, textbooks, and digital tools.

  • Ensure trainees have access to necessary resources for their training and development.


Reporting:

  • Prepare reports on program outcomes, trainee progress, and other relevant metrics.

  • Communicate with program coordinators and stakeholders about program achievements and challenges.
