Job Description
The Studio Technician will oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of media production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio systems. They will assist lecturers and students in studio-based projects, ensuring technical excellence in recording, editing, and post-production. The role also requires proficiency in industry-standard editing software, color grading, and audio mixing tools. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work collaboratively under tight schedules to meet project deadlines.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Operate and maintain studio equipment including cameras, lighting, and audio systems.
Provide technical support for photography, videography, and broadcasting projects.
Assist lecturers and students with studio operations and production assignments.
Manage the setup and breakdown of studio equipment before and after sessions.
Edit and produce high-quality audio and video content using professional software.
Perform color correction, sound balancing, and post-production tasks.
Maintain an inventory of studio equipment and ensure proper storage and functionality.
Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure smooth workflow during shoots and editing sessions.
Collaborate with media and academic teams to ensure creative and technical excellence.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Media Technology, Photography, Broadcast Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in studio operations, photography, and videography.
Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects.
Strong understanding of color grading and audio mixing tools.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
A keen eye for detail, creativity, and technical precision.
