Job Title: Structural Fitter

Duty Station: Buliisa, Uganda

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Structural Fitter to join our dynamic team. The Structural Fitter will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing structural metal components according to blueprints, specifications, and industry standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of structural fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with various metals, including steel, aluminum, and other alloys, and will be proficient in using a wide range of hand and power tools. 


As a Structural Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of various construction projects, including commercial buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects. You will collaborate closely with engineers, welders, fabricators, and other construction professionals to ensure that all structural components are accurately assembled and securely fitted. Your daily tasks will include interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, measuring and marking metal components, cutting and shaping metal parts, and assembling structural frameworks. You will also be responsible for inspecting completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. 


Additionally, you will maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering strictly to safety protocols and guidelines. The successful candidate must possess excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with other team members. You should be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions, as the job may require outdoor work and exposure to challenging environments. Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Proven experience as a Structural Fitter or similar role in structural metal fabrication.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.

  • Strong knowledge of structural metal properties and fabrication techniques.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
