Job Description
The role entails managing end-to-end sourcing processes including tendering, supplier negotiations, stakeholder engagement, vendor performance evaluation, and market analysis. The specialist will support user departments by identifying optimal sourcing strategies, ensuring compliance with procurement laws and Bank policies, and maintaining service excellence. Key responsibilities include conducting benchmarking, reviewing supplier performance against SLAs, preparing reports, and monitoring procurement risks. The role further requires ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, resolving supplier-related issues, and strengthening stakeholder collaboration across branches and departments.

Execute sourcing activities including tender preparation, publication, evaluation, and award
Negotiate favorable supplier terms to maximize value and reduce procurement costs
Map and manage key stakeholders across departments and branches
Conduct market research and benchmarking to support category decisions
Implement procurement policies, standards, controls, and regulatory requirements
Evaluate supplier performance and monitor SLA compliance
Collect, analyze, and report supplier performance data
Coordinate vendor review meetings and resolve supplier-related issues
Track and respond to internal customer inquiries and complaints within SLAs
Expedite deliveries and follow up with vendors to ensure timely fulfillment
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field
Valid Practicing License from Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)
Membership with KISM (Mandatory)
Membership with CIPS or equivalent (Added Advantage)
MBA or related Master’s degree (Added Advantage)
Experience
Minimum 3 years’ work experience
At least 2 years in purchasing/procurement
Minimum 2 years in customer service
Minimum 2 years in commercial functions such as negotiation and market analysis
Skills & Competencies
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Knowledge of supply chain regulations and compliance standards
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to analyze market trends and procurement data
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Customer-focused mindset with ability to deliver high-quality service
