Job Description
Ntake Bakery is recruiting Silo Operators to support efficient grain handling, quality control, and safe operation of silo plant systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to operational efficiency, quality management, and the continued success of one of East Africa’s most respected bakery brands.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate silo plant systems, including grain handling and transfer equipment, to ensure safe and continuous operations
- Monitor silo performance to maintain efficiency and smooth workflow
- Maintain accurate wheat segregation in line with quality standards
- Regularly monitor grain quality, including moisture content, pest activity, and temperature levels
- Apply aeration promptly and ensure strict adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices
- Supervise Grain Discharge Supervisors to ensure timely and accurate offloading activities
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime
- Identify and report equipment faults and support repair activities
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, health, and safety in compliance with GMP and company safety procedures
- Keep accurate grain inventory records and document all stock movements
