Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Shift Field Operator (SFO) to join the commissioning and start-up team on the Tilenga Project in Uganda. This hands-on role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient field operations of the plant during commissioning, start-up, and early operational phases.
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the SFO will coordinate closely with the Control Room and field teams to carry out operational activities, perform equipment inspections, support troubleshooting efforts, and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.
This is a shift-based role requiring availability for night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

How to Apply
Field Operations
Execute day-to-day field operations, including equipment start-up, shutdowns, and system lineups.
Conduct regular inspections of field equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, and heat exchangers.
Monitor field parameters and report deviations or abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor.
Commissioning & Start-up Support
Support the execution of commissioning and start-up plans in coordination with the control room team.
Assist with process system walkdowns, loop checks, and OTP execution.
Participate in punch list resolution and system readiness activities.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all HSE policies and procedures, including confined space entry, work at height, hot work, and hazardous area safety.
Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and emergency response drills.
Maintain good housekeeping and ensure waste is managed per company procedures.
Troubleshooting & Coordination
Assist in field-level troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions.
Communicate field conditions clearly and regularly to the control room and shift supervisor.
Coordinate with maintenance and logistics teams to support equipment and material needs.
Documentation & Training
Record equipment status, operational data, and field readings in shift logs.
Contribute to updates of field procedures, checklists, and operational documentation.
Support on-the-job training and mentoring of junior field operators.

Technical diploma or equivalent in Process, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas field operations, preferably in a commissioning or start-up environment.
Working knowledge of:
Rotating equipment (e.g. pumps, compressors, turbines)
Static equipment (e.g. vessels, columns, tanks)
Electrical systems (e.g. motors, heaters, trace heating)
Instrumentation systems (e.g. valves, control panels, analyzers)
Basic understanding of ICSS/DCS systems and coordination with control room operations.
Familiarity with permit-to-work systems, site safety rules, and emergency procedures.
Strong safety mindset and experience working in hazardous, high-risk environments.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural, shift-based team.
Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
