Job Description
The Senior Salad Maker will prepare and assemble salads based on customer specifications. This includes chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and fruits, ensuring ingredient freshness, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the food preparation area, and presenting dishes attractively. The candidate will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth workflow and uphold food safety standards. Flexibility to assist with other tasks and a strong focus on customer satisfaction are essential.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare salads to order according to customer preferences
Chop, slice, dice, and mix vegetables, fruits, and other salad ingredients
Ensure salads are presented in a visually appealing manner
Monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients used
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized salad preparation area
Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines
Assist kitchen staff with other tasks as needed
Uphold company standards in food presentation and preparation

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
BTEC Higher National Diploma or Diploma of Higher Education in a relevant field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in food preparation or catering, preferably in a salad-making role
Knowledge of a wide variety of salad ingredients and preparation techniques
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail
Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-pressure environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
