Job Description
Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Organisation: Excel Construction Limited
Duty Station: Jinja, Uganda
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage and oversee all aspects of quantity surveying, including cost estimation, tendering, and contract administration.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate quantity surveying activities, including cost estimation, tendering, and contract administration.
Prepare and submit tender documents, contracts, and other relevant documentation.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Analyse and report on project costs, including forecasting and budgeting.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective project delivery.
Analyse and negotiate contracts, tenders, and variations
Identify and mitigate potential risks, disputes, and claims
Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the construction industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Postgraduate degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related fields
Project management certification (e.g., PMP,) is an added advantage
Professional certification is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, laws, and regulations.
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and quantity surveying software (e.g., Bluebeam, Autodesk).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
