Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Partnerships and Business Development, is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with public and private organisations to drive coverage. This role involves overseeing the entire partnership lifecycle, from identification to onboarding and implementation.

How to Apply
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership:
Lead and oversee the development and execution of partnership strategies.
Provide leadership and guidance to the partnership and business development team, ensuring alignment with the department’s strategic goals.
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve membership growth targets.
Partnership Identification and Development:
Identify potential partners, including MDAs, workers' unions, and mass market entities, that align with the department’s membership growth goals.
Develop tailored business development cases for each potential partner, ensuring alignment with the department’s objectives and goals.
Focus on onboarding partners with high subscriber bases and common behavioural interests to secure guaranteed savers who view saving as a lifestyle.
Business Development:
Lead negotiations with partners to establish MOUs and TORs, ensuring mutual benefits and clear terms for partnership and together with partner entities, establish these mutual benefits that advance the mandates of both the Fund and the partner.
Design and execute a well-resourced partnership strategy that is diversified, inclusive, and resilient.
Embed digital and analytics to revitalise legacy partnerships while building new ones.
Grant and Sustainability Initiatives:
Lead the development and execution of grant and sustainability initiatives to reduce the cost of operations and enhance financial inclusion for the informal sector.
Develop strategies to ensure that grant-funded projects are sustainable beyond their initial funding periods.
Team Leadership and Development:
Provide leadership and support to the teams overseeing MDAs, mass market approaches, and grant and sustainability initiatives.
Foster a high-performance culture within the team, ensuring that all team members are motivated and equipped to achieve their objectives.
Provide training and development opportunities to build the capabilities of the partnership and business development team.
Education Requirements:
A relevant bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
A relevant master’s degree
A relevant post-graduate diploma
A relevant professional qualification and membership
Work Experience:
Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience, with at least four (4) years at the management level.
Proven ability to build and manage strategic relationships with regulators, industry bodies, development partners, informal sector associations, and community organisations.
Demonstrated experience in conceptualising and managing sustainability initiatives, including grant proposal development, oversight of grant-funded projects, and driving financial inclusion within the informal sector.
