Job Description
The Senior Manager, Product Management will work under the Chief Data Innovation Office to oversee Afya Gemma, an AI-driven healthcare product aimed at improving health systems in LMICs. This leadership role will manage the product from vision through to deployment and scale. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams including data scientists, engineers, clinicians, and designers, while ensuring the product’s ethical, technical, and clinical standards meet global health and data ethics benchmarks. Responsibilities include defining product strategy, managing field testing, tracking KPIs, and ensuring responsible AI practices are embedded throughout the product lifecycle.

How to Apply
Define and evolve strategic product vision for Afya Gemma focused on LMIC healthcare use cases
Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team including data scientists, UX developers, clinicians, and marketers
Lead sprint planning, backlog management, and coordinate across cross-functional teams
Conduct user interviews and field testing; integrate feedback into design
Define AI model capabilities, safety thresholds, and data requirements
Develop product launch strategies, training materials, and onboarding resources
Provide regular updates to funders and stakeholders on milestones and deliverables
Define and track KPIs such as health worker efficiency and data coverage
Ensure AI ethics and responsible practices in product design and deployment
Oversee product budgeting, resource allocation, and monitor burn rates
Identify delivery risks and implement mitigation strategies

Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Computer Science, Product Design, or related field
Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience in product management, ideally in digital health or AI-focused roles
Proven track record managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects
Familiarity with GenAI, LLMs, or decision support systems is a strong asset
Strong skills in user-centered design and agile methodologies
Experience with distributed teams and working in tech-driven environments
Demonstrated ability to build and ship successful products at scale
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong sense of ownership and a growth-oriented mindset
