Job Description
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will lead the design and development of machine learning models focused on speech and audio processing to enhance Zencastr’s services. You will prototype, train, and deploy neural networks, optimize ML pipelines, and integrate systems into production. You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and researchers to build features that improve recommendations, content delivery, and user engagement. This role requires deep technical expertise, the ability to independently drive projects, and experience operating production-ready ML systems at scale.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Design, research, and develop advanced ML algorithms for speech and audio processing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build product features powered by ML.
Prototype and productionize ML models to improve user experience.
Enhance audio and text capabilities within Zencastr’s ML team.
Operate and scale production ML systems using cloud technologies.
Lead the design and implementation of major ML components and services.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required:
Postgraduate degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
5+ years of experience with Python.
3+ years of ML research experience, with focus on speech.
3+ years of hands-on experience training and deploying neural networks.
Proficiency with ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
Experience building and operating production ML systems.
Strong background in designing and implementing major software components.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Modal).
Strong self-starter with the ability to drive projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred / Bonus Points:
Published work in peer-reviewed journals.
Experience with speech processing frameworks and DSP.
DevOps experience.
Database knowledge (MongoDB, SQL).
Experience with testing (unit, integration, load).
API development experience.
Familiarity with Docker, container clustering, and orchestration (Kubernetes).
