Job Description
The Senior Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting safe behaviors and work practices to minimize occupational health and safety incidents. The role involves administering and maintaining health and safety programs specifically for mining and processing activities at the Namdini Gold Mine Site.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain CNML Health and Safety programs to prevent incidents and loss due to mining and/or processing activities including plant maintenance.
- Assist management to develop and maintain a culture of safe operation.
- Provide advice to department managers regarding hazard identification, risk management, safety rules, regulations, trends, statistics, and compliance.
- Facilitate incident investigations to discover root causes and identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct health and safety inspections.
- Develop health and safety policies & procedures and coordinate the review of health and safety related policies and procedures.
- Monitor lead and lag Health and Safety indicators for departments and produce reports and presentations as required.
- Identify health and safety training requirements and liaise with HSE Trainers to facilitate training based on training needs.
- Coach and mentor HSE Administrator and Graduate trainees to provide optimum support to the department
- Coordinate monthly HSE Meetings across site
