Job Description
UNOC is seeking an experienced and creative Senior Communications Officer with a strong background in media relations and digital communications to drive the company's brand and communication strategies.
DEPARTMENT: Corporate Affairs
JOB TITLE: Senior Communications Officer (1 Vacancy)
REPORTS TO: Head of Corporate Relations
JOB PURPOSE: To assist the Head of Corporate Relations in managing day-to-day activities related to promoting UNOC across all media and digital platforms in line with the annual communications plan and social media content calendar.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the annual communications plan and social media content calendar.
Maintain and regularly update a databank of media personalities.
Guide media agencies in the development and execution of activities aligned with the communications plan and social media content calendar.
Coordinate media engagements for product launches and related initiatives.
Collaborate with the Senior PR Officer to handle logistics for press conferences, interviews, and media tours.
Oversee the management and implementation of the UNOC brand guidelines.
Lead visual brand-building activities, supervising both internal and external teams responsible for creating branding materials.
Manage all internal communications for UNOC and its subsidiaries.
Supervise content management on the UNOC intranet, coordinating closely with relevant departments.
Develop digital media analyses and provide insights from media trends and news.
Maintain strong relationships with external media agencies.
Mentor and develop junior staff members.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Mass Communication, Commerce, Public Policy, International Relations, Social Sciences, Languages and Linguistics, or any other relevant field from a recognized university.
Membership to the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) is a mandatory requirement.
At least six (6) years of relevant experience, with a minimum of three (3) years in a reputable corporate entity.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Proven experience managing social media content and/or digital media channels for large organizations.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational skills.
Proven track record of working across functions and business units.
Business acumen.
Expertise in creative writing and content creation.
Copywriting.
Digital media management.
