Job Description
Job Title: Senior Associate, Public Sector Consulting

The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day technical execution of public sector consulting engagements, ensuring that all deliverables are of high quality, completed on time, and within budget for a wide range of assignments including Public Financial Management (PFM), Programme Management, Monitoring & Evaluation (MGE), Capacity Building, and Institutional Strengthening for government institutions and development partners.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Take ownership of specific workstreams or components of public sector consulting assignments ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Contribute to fiduciary reviews, service delivery assessments, and Independent Verification Agent (IVA) assignments, providing objective analysis, drafting sections of reports, and presenting findings.
Actively support the preparation of high-quality Expressions of Interest (EOls), technical proposals, concept papers, and related submissions for donor-funded consulting opportunities. Participate in stakeholder engagement processes, including interfacing with government officials, development partners, donor agencies, and other key stakeholders throughout the consulting cycle.
Work collaboratively with managers and partners in identifying business opportunities, supporting bid development, and positioning the firm as a trusted advisor in public sector consulting. Conduct in-depth research, data collection, analysis, and policy reviews, translating insights into practical, evidence-based recommendations that inform project outputs.
Supervise, coach, and mentor junior team members, providing guidance to build technical capability and ensuring deliverables meet professional standards.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, Development Studies, or any other related field.
Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA), is highly desirable.
Minimum of 4 to 6 years’ relevant experience in Public Sector Consulting, development partner-funded projects, or advisory roles in related fields.
Demonstrated experience working with Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), and/or development partners/donor organizations on assignments related to PFM, governance reforms, programme management, and capacity development.
Practical exposure to fiduciary reviews, IVAs, M&E frameworks, or service delivery assessments is an advantage.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
