About the Organisation
Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) is a semi-autonomous state corporation established in June 2004. Its mandate is to regulate, coordinate, and oversee Kenya’s maritime sector in accordance with the Kenya Maritime Authority Act (2006), the Merchant Shipping Act (2009), and international maritime conventions. Job Description
The role involves managing administrative services such as office cleanliness, allocation of workspace, supervision of support staff, tracking movement of office equipment, and coordinating administrative logistics for meetings and events. The officer will also handle staff training needs in administration, maintain records, and ensure the repair, maintenance, and insurance renewals of office facilities and equipment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure general cleanliness of office spaces is consistently maintained
Supervise the allocation and management of office accommodation
Oversee support services and staff within the administration unit
Monitor and track the movement and location of office equipment and supplies
Initiate administrative staff development and handle policy matters related to administration
Coordinate the identification and procurement of office equipment and furniture
Liaise across departments on administrative matters
Facilitate organizational meetings, conferences, and special events
Oversee the maintenance and repair of office buildings and equipment
Prepare and submit administrative reports, particularly on repairs and maintenance
Facilitate the renewal of office insurance policies and staff visas
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Office Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in administration
Proven ability and merit demonstrated through prior performance
Proficiency in computer applications
