Job Description
The Science Teacher will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Science lessons (e.g., Basic Science/Integrated Science and related subjects where applicable) in line with NECO and WAEC syllabi. The role includes preparing schemes of work and lesson plans, administering continuous assessments and examinations, integrating ICT in teaching and learning, managing classroom discipline, and providing academic support to students. The Teacher will participate in co-curricular activities, staff meetings, and professional development, and collaborate with colleagues to improve learning outcomes and uphold the school’s missionary ethos.

Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching notes aligned to NECO/WAEC syllabi.
Deliver engaging, learner-centred Science lessons using appropriate pedagogy and ICT tools.
Set, mark, and record classwork, homework, tests, and examinations; provide timely feedback.
Maintain classroom discipline and a safe, conducive learning environment.
Identify learning gaps; offer remediation, coaching, and exam preparation support.
Develop and use teaching aids, practical demonstrations, and simple experiments where safe and feasible.
Keep accurate student records (attendance, results, continuous assessment).
Participate in co-curricular activities, open days, and school events.
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
Uphold the school’s values, safeguarding standards, and professional ethics.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
B.Ed, B.Sc(Ed), B.Tech, B.Eng, or NCE in a Science-related field (required).
Minimum 1 year of teaching experience.
Strong knowledge of NECO and WAEC curricula.
Computer literate; able to use basic ICT for lesson delivery and record-keeping.
High level of personal discipline, integrity, and professionalism.
Effective classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for student learning and continuous improvement.
