We are looking for a qualified person to take up the role of Research Coordinator, who will operate from our Uganda Country office. Do you want to take on this challenge?
You will develop research protocols and methodologies that ensure high-quality data collection.
You will design data collection tools to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
You will collaborate with internal and external research partners to refine research questions and hypotheses.
You will conduct in-depth case-studies to understand different peer mentoring systems, and analyse the qualitative data gathered.
You will use case-study results to design and implement A/B testing to evaluate different peer mentoring models, analyse A/B test results to identify effective peer mentoring models, and iterate on A/B testing methodologies based on feedback and research findings.
You will synthesize findings into comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree: Typically required in a relevant field such as biology, psychology, public health, clinical research, or other sciences.
Master’s Degree: Often preferred or required for higher-level positions, especially in scientific or medical research settings.
Experience:
Research Experience: Prior experience in research, either as an assistant or coordinator, is often required. This can include experience with clinical trials, laboratory research, or social science research.
Project Management: Experience in managing projects, including planning, executing, and monitoring progress.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as IRB (Institutional Review Board) processes, FDA regulations, or other relevant guidelines.
Skills and Competencies
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring all aspects of the research are coordinated and deadlines are met.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for ensuring data accuracy, compliance with protocols, and the integrity of research findings.
Communication Skills:
Written Communication: Proficiency in writing reports, grant applications, and other research documentation.
Oral Communication: Effective communication with team members, researchers, participants, and stakeholders.
Technical Skills:
Data Management: Proficiency with data management systems, statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS), and electronic data capture systems.
Laboratory Skills: For positions in scientific research, knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety protocols may be required.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Aptitude for identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing changes to improve research processes.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including researchers, clinicians, and support staff.
