Research Assistants (10 Positions) Job at ZOA Uganda

Job Description

ZOA Uganda is seeking 10 Research Assistants to support a Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) survey for the Agricultural Governance Results Improvement Project (A‑GRIP). The survey aims to generate baseline evidence on land governance, rights, and gender inclusion across the Lango and Elgon regions. This is a short-term assignment involving direct engagement with land governance stakeholders.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the research assistants training/Orientation
  • Perform field data collection and management activities, administer informed consent, conduct and complete interviews in accordance with the study protocol.
  • Ensure that data entered in Kobo tool Box application is accurate and complete
  • Answer or refer questions that the respondents may ask before or during the course of data collection.
  • Collect data and participate in data management processes including validation to ensure the data meets the quality standards as defined by ZOA.
  • Ensure daily uploads of the data into the server.
  • Report key issues of concern during data collection and hand them over to the ZOA team at the end of each day.
  • Ensure high-level data protection and integrity
  • Conduct Key informant and in-depth interview for the study with selected respondents.
  • Participate in the transcription of qualitative data and handover hardcopies of this data to ZOA staff
  • Provide the Team Leader with daily updates including interviews completed, and any other important information about assigned participants
  • Any other duties assigned by the data collection team leaders or the project manager.

NB: This is a short-term contract that will be paid according to the number of days worked for. Research Assistants will be called upon based on the specific needs of the data collection process.
