Job Summary:
The Research Administrative Assistant will provide vital support to a clinical trial evaluating the role of peer educators in improving TB treatment adherence. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day administrative functions of the study, including maintaining accurate trial documentation, scheduling meetings and field activities, supporting data management processes, and ensuring timely communication among investigators, field teams, and community stakeholders. The role will also involve assisting with ethics submissions, tracking budgets and procurement needs, and supporting preparation of progress reports and dissemination materials. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong interest in public health research, who is committed to contributing to the strengthening of TB care and primary health systems.

Provide administrative support for day-to-day study activities, including filing, photocopying, and maintaining
organized study records.
Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and circulating action points.
Support logistics for trainings, workshops, and field activities (e.g., booking venues, arranging transport,
preparing materials).
Help with routine communication between the study team, field staff, and community stakeholders.
Assist in preparing simple reports, summaries, and documentation for progress updates.
Provide support in data entry, basic quality checks, and maintaining databases under supervision.
Help track supplies and small procurement needs for the study.
Ensure safe handling and confidentiality of study documents and participant information.
Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator or Principal Investigator.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
The applicant for the WALIMU Research Administrative Assistant job must have.
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in public health, Social Sciences, Health Administration, or a related field
Training in research methods, project management, or monitoring and evaluation is desirable.
Experience
At least 3 years of prior experience working in a research or
health project setting, preferably in clinical trials or
implementation research or a related context.
Experience with TB, HIV, or other community-based health programs is an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to support project administration, including documentation, scheduling, and coordination.
Skills and Competencies
Strong organisational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data management systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with community partners, research staff, and investigators.
Other Requirements
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Flexibility and willingness to travel to field sites as needed.
Commitment to research ethics and confidentiality.
