Job Description

To protect wildlife resources, property and human life in area of deployment.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conducting patrols/operations to protect wildlife resources in and around the Protected Areas.
  • Detecting and proactively preventing wildlife crime.
  • Arresting, searching and supporting prosecution of suspects involved in illegal wildlife activities.
  • Providing security to wildlife resources, property, staff and visitors within the Protected Areas.
  • Collecting and recording field data for Management decision making.
  • Supporting problem animal control.
  • Supporting the rescue, capture and translocation of wildlife.
  • vili. Operating radios and disseminating information to relevant personnel.
  • Gathering and relaying intelligence to relevant personnel.
  • Monitoring protected area boundaries to deter encroachment.
  • Undertaking wildlife inventories and surveys. xii. Preparing and submitting operational reports.
