Job Description
Reporting to the Project Manager, the QMS Surveyor will manage verification and control activities (VCARs), oversee inspector qualifications, validate inspection reports, and track the resolution of punch lists and non-conformities. The role involves monitoring project progress, participating in internal/external meetings, preparing monthly progress reports, and ensuring health, safety, security, and environment (H3SE) compliance. The QMS Surveyor may also perform direct inspections of installation and commissioning activities when required. This role demands strong technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, civil, and instrumentation disciplines, as well as familiarity with certification standards such as ISO 17065 and quality management systems.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor and ensure quality of installation and commissioning activities.
Define monitoring activities, required skills, budget, and planning.
Prepare and manage Verification & Control Activity Reports (VCARs).
Qualify inspectors in line with the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
Ensure no conflicts of interest exist in inspection assignments.
Validate and forward all inspection reports to the Project Manager.
Track and ensure resolution of non-conformities (NCRs) and punch list items.
Update VCARs and liaise with the Certification Manager for approvals.
Manage H3SE issues in coordination with the H3SE Manager.
Conduct inspections as per approved procedures when required.
Participate in weekly internal and monthly/quarterly external meetings.
Prepare monthly progress reports.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in oil & gas or related industries.
Strong knowledge of certification projects and project management (people and budget).
Experience in quality management, audits, and compliance.
Technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, instrumentation, and civil works.
Familiarity with QA/QC in oilfield site construction projects, preferably international.
Familiar with ISO 17065 certification standards and quality management systems.
Strong understanding of conflict-of-interest management.
Skilled in inspection techniques, verification of quality/inspection plans, and corrective actions.
Excellent written reporting and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in multicultural and international teams.
Valid driving license for travel to inspection sites (mandatory).
