Job Description
We are looking for an experienced projects logistics and aid and relief pricing and quoting professional. They should be capable of finding the right information, analyzing it in order to provide a winning solution. It is important to provide the requested rates timely to the internal and external customers. The incumbent will manage pricing optimization strategy to support operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receive, review, and analyze all incoming pricing requests (RFQs) to win business through accurate and timely submission. To ensure that both internal and external customers’ requests are met with the optimum service levels and associated pricing. Prepare weekly quotations reports and submit to the Head of Project Logistics EAF.
To ensure that our rates are in line with the market and that the right people are engaged at the right time for higher volume spot enquiries and longer term rate requirements. Liaise with CEVA origin, trade lane managers and destination offices for rates based on terms of sale.
Negotiate rates with carriers / haulers / suppliers in line with the responsible Managers. Ensure that best route option and mode of transport has been considered.
They will be responsible for preparing tenders and bidding for project logistics and aid and relief business
Provide analytics support by way of quality data entry. Support Product teams with guidance and information for current trends through the development of logical pricing processes and technology. Contribute to increase the hit ratio for new business through adapted pricing strategies.
Manage and follow up all quotes to obtain feedback to measure, analyze and circulate to the relevant teams, adjusting pricing where possible to ensure we secure opportunities.
Monitor won / loss quote ratio on a weekly basis and ensure that we maintain our profit and loss data to analyze.
Ensure that any quotes accepted comply strictly with our terms and conditions and accounting practices.
Handover of secured jobs to the relevant operations teams in a timely manner with all required information.
Investigate pricing discrepancies and obtain rectification in a timely manner to prevent further issues.
Examine and implement best practices to improve the pricing performance through analyzing customers, business developers and operations feedback. Continuously monitoring and provide local market intelligence. Maintain a high level of awareness of market fluctuations in rates and charges.
Any other delegated tasks deemed reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager in line with department and individual growth.
Qualifications and Competencies
A University degree with exposure to finance/accounting/Supply Chain/Logistics Management is required
Minimum 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding operations / estimates and pricing for both imports and exports (sea freight, breakbulk, road freight, air freight)
Advanced understanding and skills in Microsoft Excel
Updated Incoterms Advanced Knowledge, a key requirement
Geographical knowledge and related tariffs
General knowledge on shipping terms and abbreviations
Good interpersonal skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical skills
