Project Officer - Gender job at COU-TEDDO
COU-TEDDO
The position holder will lead in the day-to-day implementation of the Gender Equality component of the project in two selected sub counties in Amuria District. He/she will work closely with key staff in the Department of Community Based Services and other key stakeholders to promote gender equality and challenge negative norms and practices that shape/influence dietary habbits and nutritional situation in the targeted communities.

Carry out mass mobilization and awareness-raising to challenge negative socio-cultural norms and practices that promote gender inequality.
Facilitate Community Dialogues on gender norms
Form Men Care groups and facilitate Men Care training sessions for Men Care Volunteers
Facilitate training of Lead Mothers and Fathers on Gender Action Learning Systems (GALS)
Provide technical support and backstopping to Men Care Volunteers, and Lead
Mothers/Fathers while rolling out the Men Care and GALS sessions respectively.
Write and submit timely and quality project activity and project progress reports as per COU-TEDDO and donor formats
Particiapte in routine project data collection to ensure timely reporting and reviews of implementation.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Project coordinator from time to time.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities. A post graduate qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in implementation of similar projects is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present reports.
Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Ability to communicate in the local language (Ateso) is a MUST.
Strong understanding of gender transformative tools and approaches like MenCare and GALS.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyse, and interprete data effectively.
Strong training and facilitation skills
Must have a valid motorcycle riding permit and be willing to access communities using a
Motorcycle.
