Job Description
Job Title: Project Intern – Upper Rwizi Catchment – Buhweju, Isingiro, Sheema & Rwampara
Organisation: Wetlands International
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary: Wetlands International is seeking a Project Intern to support the implementation of the Rwizi Catchment Resilient Project in Southwestern Uganda. The project focuses on restoring and protecting critical wetland ecosystems, strengthening community resilience, and supporting sustainable natural resource management.
The intern will work closely with the Project Officer to support field activities, stakeholder engagement, documentation, data collection, reporting, and overall project coordination across the Upper Rwizi Catchment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support logistics for project activities and community engagement
Assist with field data collection, monitoring, and reporting
Track agreed programme action points
Document meetings, workshops, and field outcomes

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Water Resources, Conservation Biology, or related field
Minimum 6 months’ project experience (NGO, consultancy, district government, or development sector)
Willingness to travel and work in remote areas
Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills
Proficiency in MS Office; Runyakitara skills are an advantage
