About the Organisation

The Africa Centre for Energy and Mineral Policy (ACEMP) is a non-profit organization established in 2012, dedicated to promoting good governance, research, capacity building, equity, socio-economic justice, and shared benefits in Uganda’s energy and extractive resource sectors.

ACEMP contributes to Uganda’s National Development Plans, Vision 2040, and the attainment of at least 11 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our work focuses on three thematic areas:

  1. Mining and Mineral Development (including Oil and Gas)

  2. Renewable Energy, Climate Justice, and Environmental Accountability

  3. Business and Human Rights

ACEMP has received funding from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) through Danida to implement components of the Strengthening Environmental Accountability and Climate Action in West Nile (SEA-WN) Project, under a consortium led by the Rural Initiative for Community Empowerment (RICE) West Nile and the Royal Danish Embassy (RDE).

Project implementation will primarily take place in Nakapiripirit and Amudat Districts, with additional national-level engagements. ACEMP now seeks to recruit a Project Driver to support the efficient and effective delivery of project activities.
