Job Description
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Lead program planning and implementation through the development of work plans, budgets and reports. Keep track of implementation of work plans for projects and related activities, develop detailed project implementation guidelines to help USTP staff deliver on their mandate.
Support the analysis, interpretation and use of M&E data, through project review meetings, participate in generating evidence through research and/or analysis of internal information to inform future programme and share lessons with TB fraternity.
Lead the elaboration of periodic and annual project reports for the projects, be updated on national health strategies and priorities with a focus on TB to enable the identification and modification of appropriate intervention by USTP.

Take lead in the development of USTP strategies and plans given observations of project implementation, constraints and changes in the health policies and plans. Participate in writing new grant proposals to mobilize resources.
Support the development of winning funding Proposals in response to emerging opportunities and in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.
Maintain healthy and cordial donor relations including ensuring compliance with donor programming and reporting requirements, guidelines and standards.
Develop institutional capacity building strategies/plans for the program team to ensure that they are equipped enough to effectively deliver programmes and projects in line with the vision, mission, values and standards.
Ensure that program activities are of high quality and within the work plans, policies and procedures of the organization.
Ensure that program /project activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards i.e., aligned to the approved national frameworks.
Participate in meetings, fora, debates and working groups of USTP institutional partners at national and regional levels.
MBChB/MD or equivalent health sciences degree
A master’s degree in public health, Health Service Management, International Health, Epidemiology and Statistics or other closely related field.
More than 5 years’ experience in health management and programming.
Additional requirements include:
Experience in TB programing
Knowledge of experience in project/implementation and management
Knowledge of the Uganda health policy and TB strategies and stakeholders at Ministry of Health and district local governments
Candidates should have proficiency in computer usage (especially spreadsheets and data management programs)
Should demonstrate good understanding, analysis and use of health data
Self-driven individual with good team building skills
Able to communicate effectively
Able to write and present issues with clarity
Coach staff
Relate with government, CSO and donor partners
Good time management
