Job Description
Job Title: Programs Intern (Youth Climate Council) (No Experience NGO Jobs)

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
The Programs Intern will support and enhance YCC programs under the guidance of the YCC Coordinator. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that align with the YCC’s mission and objectives. The intern will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, manage program resources, and ensure effective delivery of activities and programs of the Youth Climate Council.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Program Development: Assist in designing and refining YCC programs to meet strategic objectives.
Implementation: Execute program activities in collaboration with regional teams and stakeholders.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Track program outcomes and impact, providing regular reports to the YCC Coordinator.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with youth-led organizations, government agencies, and civil society to foster partnerships and promote program alignment.
Resource Management: Support in managing budgetary allocations and logistics for program activities.
Capacity Building: Facilitate training sessions and workshops to build the capacity of youth participants in climate action and policy engagement.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of program activities, achievements, and challenges for organizational learning and reporting purposes.
Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Ensure compliance with organizational policies, guidelines, and donor requirements in program implementation.
Outputs/deliverables
Execution of at least three YCC programs or initiatives aligned with the council’s objectives.
Coordination of activities across all four YCC regions (North, East, Central, and West).
Submission of detailed monthly program progress reports (achievements, challenges, lessons).
Development of an annual program performance report summarizing outcomes and impacts.
Facilitation of capacity-building workshops or training sessions for youth participants.
Establishment or enhancement of partnerships with at least five new youth-led organizations, government entities, or civil society actors.
Creation of a stakeholder database documenting all partnerships engaged during the
internship period.
Integration of youth-led inputs into at least one national or local climate policy or strategy.
Development of a digital archive containing program documentation (activity reports, attendance lists, financial records).
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Recent graduate of environmental studies, development studies, social sciences, or a related field.
Passion for climate action and youth empowerment.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, with attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office suite and familiarity with project management tools is an advantage.
