About the Organisation

The Norwegian Association of Disabled (NAD), founded in 1931, is a Disabled Persons Organisation (DPO) that has actively contributed to development work since 1981. NAD’s core mission is to eliminate barriers that hinder individuals with disabilities from fully participating in society. The organization works closely with the National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU), its main partner in Uganda. In 2015, NAD established a regional office in Kampala, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive education, economic empowerment, human rights advocacy, and disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction. NAD aims to strengthen DPOs and the broader disability movement in Uganda.
