Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring that schedules and targets are met. They will coordinate with procurement and other departments for timely availability of materials, monitor workflows, assign tasks based on staff strengths, and provide regular training. The supervisor will also enforce quality control measures, address process inefficiencies, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Regular reporting and acting as a communication link between upper management and production staff are also key aspects of the role.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure timely availability of processing materials, tools, and consumables.
Manage production schedules and task assignments to optimize productivity.
Oversee staff rotation and provide regular feedback to improve performance.
Motivate staff to meet or exceed production goals.
Monitor processes and collaborate with quality inspectors to maintain standards.
Quickly resolve production issues and suggest process improvements.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer timelines are met.
Train new and existing employees on SOPs and safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and manage emergency responses.
Submit reports on production performance and workflow.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related production field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing supervisory role (preferably in aluminum or metal processing industry).
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, ability to troubleshoot and improve workflow.
Soft Skills:
Task delegation and team motivation
Problem-solving and decision-making
Staff training and development
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Organizational skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple processes
