Job Description
You will craft product vision and go-to-market plans, translate objectives into measurable initiatives, and champion embedded insurance and platform distribution. The role drives API integrations (banks/fintechs/telcos/3rd parties), payments and digital claims workflows, and partners closely with UX/UI to deliver intuitive experiences. You’ll align delivery to regulatory frameworks (AML/KYC/underwriting), oversee analytics dashboards and feedback loops, lead change management and training, and report product performance and strategy to leadership.

How to Apply
Product Strategy & Vision
Define vision, roadmap, and GTM for assigned segments.
Translate business goals into initiatives with KPIs and success criteria.
Identify customer needs, market gaps, and competitive trends.
Champion embedded insurance and platform distribution.
Define API integration opportunities with banks, fintechs, telcos, and partners.
Product Development & Management
Lead full lifecycle: ideation → design → build → test → deploy → iterate.
Own and prioritize the backlog; deliver stories in agile sprints.
Drive discussions on insurance APIs, payments, and digital claims.
Ensure alignment with compliance, risk, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor performance via dashboards, analytics, and VoC loops.
Performance & Change Management
Track adoption, profitability, engagement vs. KPIs.
Lead rollout planning, comms, and training for internal users/partners.
Support onboarding and internal adoption of portals/solutions.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure adherence to industry regulations, underwriting standards, AML/KYC.
Work with Legal, Risk, and Actuarial; participate in reviews/audits; maintain governance docs.
Stakeholder Management
Serve as single point of accountability for delivery.
Partner with Branches, Agents, Digital Channels, and B2B partners to drive uptake.
Align with IT, Operations, Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, and Legal.
Provide status, roadmap updates, and strategic inputs to leadership.
Market Research & Customer Insights
Conduct market/competitor research; validate features/pricing.
Gather insights via surveys, interviews, and behavioral analytics.
Identify cross-sell/up-sell opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, IT, Finance or related field.
5+ years in insurance product development (digital insurance/bancassurance preferred).
Certifications in Product Management, Agile/Scrum, or Insurance are an advantage.
Experience delivering with tech teams in fast-paced environments.
Exposure to B2B/B2C/B2B2C insurance distribution models.
Deep expertise in Life, General, Health, Microinsurance and/or Bancassurance.
Strong grasp of embedded insurance, API ecosystems, partner platforms.
Solid understanding of agile PLM, UI/UX, customer-centric design.
Knowledge of East Africa insurance regulations.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, analysis, and execution skills.
