Job Description
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for cost reduction initiatives, conducting regular market research, and preparing Local Purchase Orders (LPOs). The role involves managing procurement documentation, maintaining communication with internal departments, updating supplier quotations, and keeping a reliable supplier database. The Procurement Officer will also be responsible for record-keeping, tracking orders, and providing timely updates to users on monthly or routine orders.

Assist in analyzing procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Conduct market research to understand trends, gather supplier data, and support purchasing decisions.
Prepare and issue Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) in line with company requirements.
Manage procurement-related documents and ensure data integrity.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth procurement processes.
Maintain updated records of supplier quotations and follow up on price changes.
Build and maintain an updated database of reliable suppliers.
Track and record all orders to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment.
Coordinate and update users on the status of monthly and routine orders.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics or related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in procurement.
Must be a registered member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
Strong knowledge of procurement procedures and documentation.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work with procurement software and MS Office tools.
