Job Description
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent.
Job Summary: In Uganda, we are currently seeking to recruit a Process Operator, based at our Mbarara Plant.
As a Process Operator, you will report directly to the Team Leader, Packaging.
Key Purpose Statement
The primary role of a Process Operator is the operation of the process area according to work instructions, the execution of destructive and non-destructive quality checks, preventative maintenance and carrying out autonomous maintenance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Operating and Process Control
Operating the process machines according to the work instructions and adhering to material usage standards.
Constantly reviewing process performance against target and completing all short interval control documentation.
Performing housekeeping tasks, applying 5s principles and following safe work practices.
Identifying and correcting unsafe work practices
Carrying out flavour and size changeovers according to the work instructions
Maintenance of Plant and Equipment
Carrying out deep cleaning, lubrication and inspection of machines according to the work instructions, and following the schedules supplied by the maintenance planner.
Carrying out autonomous maintenance activities according to the work instructions and following the maintenance schedule.
Conduct breakdown maintenance tasks
Problem solving
Applying the appropriate situational problem-solving techniques (e.g. 5Why, quick fix routines, OPL’s (One Point Lessons) etc.) to identify and correct the problem.
Provide information for and participate in situational and systemic problem solving as required
Where problems have been resolved, verify that the problems have been eliminated.
Continuous Improvement
Using run / control charts and trend analysis, to identify sources of waste and variation in the process.
Using short stop analysis, Pareto charts and other tools seek to identify opportunities to simplify activities.
Participate in food safety management system implementation.
Report food safety, defence and fraud related issues to food safety team leader designate (SHEQ) manager.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience
Minimum of two years relevant experience in a FMCGs and adequate experience in machine operation.
Competencies
Must possess good analytical ability and problem-solving skills,
Good oral & written communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to provide strong leadership and motivation.
Must be a change activist and
Must have good influential skills.
